Yearbook of Contextual Biblical Interpretation

Aims and Scope

The Yearbook of Contextual Biblical Interpretation offers an international, interdisciplinary, and innovative platform for scholarly research in the field of contextual Biblical interpretation. Embracing contextuality as a catalyst for interpretation, the Yearbook is dedicated to fostering interpretations of Biblical texts that contribute to the flourishing of both humanity and the broader ecological world. Each year, the publication focuses on a specific area of concern, around which invited contributions and open-call submissions are organized.

All submissions undergo rigorous peer review, often conducted by members of the publication's international editorial board.

The scope of the Yearbook is intentionally broad. While it emphasizes the interplay between contemporary and historical contextuality, it also welcomes reception-oriented contributions and purely historical studies, provided they engage with contemporary contextual concerns to shed fresh light on ancient texts.

Given its interdisciplinary nature, contributions may come from diverse fields, including Biblical studies, systematic theology, practical theology, religious studies, and related disciplines or subfields. The Yearbook seeks to engage a wide range of perspectives, fostering rich and dynamic dialogue within the realm of contextual Biblical interpretation.
