Sampling for generalization

This article supports qualitative researchers in choosing among several forms of sampling. The optimal form of sampling depends on the question which form of generalization is desired: statistic generalization, variation covering generalization, theoretical generalization or transferability. The coherence among forms of sampling and forms of generalization is summarized in a table.
