The 5th International Conference on Art Studies: Research, Experience, Education (ICASSEE 2021)
Preface: The phenomenon of art as seen by scientists, artists, and educators
The proceedings “Art Studies: Research, Experience, Education” are the result of the 5th International Scientific Conference that took place at the State Institute for Art Studies (Moscow, Russia) on September 9-10, 2021. It was jointly organized by the State Institute for Art Studies, the China Academy of Art, and the International Scientific and Cultural Centre for Academic Contacts. The conference was held online on the Zoom platform.
The conference was attended by the representatives of research institutions, universities for arts and humanities and museums from Belarus, the United Kingdom, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Japan. The scope, the diversity of methodological approaches, and the opportunity to tackle the main issues of art history from different perspectives were the key characteristic features of this scientific forum. The organizers of the conference aimed to bring together art experts of different fields into a discussion to present and discuss research, developments, and innovations in the field of contemporary art studies, art practice and artistic education. Transformations of the Other's Image in Transmedia. Discussion on the Example of The Witcher
Door Violetta EvallyoIn this article, the author addresses the topic of the Other in transmedia. The object of the study was visual works about the Witcher: the novels of A. Sapkowski, the Polish TV series "The Witcher" (Wiedzmin, 2002), the TV series "The Witcher" (2019), the rock opera "Road without Return" (ESSE, 2009), computer games (The Witcher / 2008, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings / 2011, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt / 2014), comics and game streaming. The aim of the study was the accents made by the creators of these works, a comparison of the most acutely presented topics. The key aspect of this article was the ratio of time and space, and its interpretations in various transmedia products, the transformation of the Witcher's image in his visual and aesthetic representations. The author concludes that transmedia is the actor of the so-called "humanization" (that is, anthropic saturation) of stories about Others.

Attributes of a Model in 19th Century Portrait Photography: Typical and Individual
Door Alexandra YurgenevaThe article analyzes the attributes of models which can be observed in the portrait photography of the second half of the 19th century. With the help of the items in the shot, the photographers created typical images of honourable members of European society. The photographs captured new archetypes of the urban community with modern attributes of a profession or leisure. Items of European and colonial everyday life reflected the interaction between the metropolis and the territories under its control. But the objects in the photograph also conveyed the individual features of a model's personality, which was important for its functioning as an instrument of memory.

Study on the Development of Chinese Animated Films in the New Era
Door Ting LiWith the rapid development of the film industry in recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the film industry. In particular, the formal implementation of "Film Industry Promotion Act" on March 1, 2017 marked that the film industry was officially incorporated into the national economic and social development plan. As China is the second largest film market worldwide, Chinese animated films will face more intense international competition. As the state attaches importance to the cultural industry, the research on the development of Chinese animated films has become more and more important. Starting from the cultural development and aesthetic analysis of Chinese animated films in the new era, this paper explores the existing problems and aesthetic dilemmas of Chinese animated films, and discusses how to build a unique aesthetic system of Chinese animated films in China and serve cultural development.

The Spiritual Picture in Bong Joon-ho's Realistic Movies
Door Chunfang LiIn Bong Joon-ho's "auteur system", sharp realistic issues are nakedly thrown on the screen, suspense, thriller, crime, psychology and other elements are mixed into exciting stories, which follow the laws of the market and gain insight into the public. The realistic creation of aesthetic psychology has become an important reason why Bong Joon-ho's films are so popular. This article will present three perspectives from the collective trauma in the interpretation of real events, the underlying dilemma intertwined with obedience and resistance, and the human nature that breaks the binary opposition between good and evil to research on the spiritual picture in Bong Joon-ho's realist film, presenting Bong Joon-ho's independent style and realistic critical value of "auteur system".

Contribution of Graduates of the Institute of Civil Engineers to the Revival of the Caucasian Style in the Russian Empire

The aim of the text is to demonstrate the leading role of graduates from the Institute of Civil Engineers in making projects of such churches, where the main attention was put at the shaping of the New Byzantine style, including that one called Armenian-Byzantine by contemporaries.

Articulation of the Genre Canon in the Piano Concerto by Samuel Barber
Auteurs: Olena Antonova & Olena KorchovaThis article reviews Samuel Barber's Piano Concerto in three projections: a work of enhanced personal representation, a highly artistic example of the genre, and an "American Piano Concerto”. The affiliation of this work to the culminating phase of the artist's biography, marked by a significant modernization of the individual musical language, is emphasized. The directions of articulation of the basic features of the concert genre are revealed: diversification of forms of dialogue between soloist and orchestra, the balance of technical and artistic in an arrangement of the piano part, achievement of the integrity of a cycle at the expense of intensive motive-thematic work. The place of the Barber concert in the American history of the genre as a point of balance between the canonical and experimental approaches to its embodiment is marked.

Discussion on the Singing Artistic Characteristics of the Mongol Nationality Vocal Work
Door Songlin ZhouThis paper makes a superficial study on the artistic characteristics of the singing of "Anser Cygnoides", a vocal work of ethnic minorities, from the aspects of its origin, its spreading and singing status, its singing technique processing and analysis, and its practice in personal graduation concerts. Starting from the creation background of "Anser Cygnoides", the author at first composed improvisations to express the feeling of homesickness for Dan Bijia larsen, the third son of the living Buddha. The combination of the lyrics of "Anser Cygnoides" also conveys a deep feeling of homesickness. Now, it adopts old tunes, creates lyrics by Lv Yanwei, and is sung and widely sung by Hu Sileng. It is even selected and interpreted in many different versions by many satellite TV programs, which is popular among the public. It further enables people to understand the essence of Mongolian culture, which is also of great significance to the inheritance of Chinese culture. It also focuses on the ethnic singing treatment of "Anser Cygnoides", the need to pay attention to its reasonable voice position, articulation treatment, voice control and strength of the embodiment of a detailed analysis. Finally, the author interprets and discusses the practice of singing in person concert, and thinks that special attention should be paid to the singing of "Anser Cygnoides" with "conveying emotion by voice" and "bringing along the voice through breath" and giving full play to the subjective imagination to enrich the interpretation of the work.

Ways of Viewing in the Era of Copying Image: Study on Chuck Close's Pixel Portrait Paintings

This type of portrait painting provides people with a new way of viewing — viewing the abstract nearby and the concrete afar. And as the bridge between the abstract and the concrete, it is the grid of pixels with various styles. Based on this, this article uses Close's portrait paintings from 1970 to 1999 to try to analyze his intention to create with photos and the evolvement of the style of pixel portrait paintings, as well as the way he uses photography to express the new vitality of portrait paintings, thereby reflecting the symbiotic relationship between photography and painting.

This paper mainly discusses the tonguing. The bamboo flute's bright and crisp, high and smooth, graceful and beautiful timbre and rich artistic expression are inseparable from the use of various skills in the performance. Repertory Preferences of Visitors of Children's Theaters and the Choice of the Audience
Door Evgeniia DudkinaThe issues of the functioning of theaters in the modern world have been the subject of multiple researches, both theatrical and based on the analysis of statistical and sociological data. The present article focuses on describing the features of the state cultural policy of the Russian Federation aimed at children and young people, and analyzing the repertoire policy of youth theaters. The study has used the data from the sociological survey conducted by researchers of the State Institute for Art Studies in 2019 and the statistics for the period of 2015-2019. The article discusses the issues of the functioning of children's theaters, and analyzes not only the performances in the repertoire of the federal and regional youth theaters, but also the possibility of changing the repertoire.

Exhibitions of Chinese Ancient Art Overseas from 1949 to 2018. Data Analysis, Development Trends, Reflections
Door Xi ChenSince the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Chinese ancient art overseas exhibitions have gone through nearly 70 years of development. Through detailed analysis of major case studies, the study describes the ways in which Chinese ancient art overseas exhibitions developed in scope and accelerated in number during this period. Thematically, exhibitions have become more diverse in their content, thus expanding both their chronological and spatial breadth, and the depth of their interpretative potential. In terms of organization and management, larger numbers of international museums and cultural institutions have participated in the mounting of Chinese exhibitions overseas, a process that has injected fresh vitality into the cause of cultural heritage interaction, but which also brings new challenges for the heritage sector to address. Guided by China's foreign policy, spatial and temporal distribution and thematic features of Chinese ancient art overseas exhibitions are influenced by political, economic and cultural factors, reflecting the improvement of Chinese strength and the development of museum undertakings.

Discussion on the Value Experience and Language Connotation of Modern China's Expressive Oil Painting

For oil painting, adopting different art languages has irreplaceable influence on visual tension, and subtly alters style and taste. Since the 1980s, Chinese and Western cultures have collided and mingled, learning from each other in the process. In creation language, Chinese expressive painting exhibits various style and schema, and artists also attach great importance to the study and practice of painting subject. Tracing back the history and context of Chinese and Western cultures, this article tries to explore the reflection of Chinese expressive oil painting against the background of contemporary art by examining its language content: modernity, national spirit and freehand tradition.

Research on the Application of Coloratura in Hu Tingjiang's Adapted Vocal Music Works. Taking "Youth Dance" as an Example

With the development of the times, China's national vocal music shows a trend of vigorous development. Hu Tingjiang is one of the well-known young contemporary composers in China, and is also a leading figure in contemporary national coloratura creation. The folk songs he compiled combine contemporary fresh elements and bold creative techniques with the national characteristics of Chinese local folk songs, opening up a new development path for the creation of Chinese national vocal music. Taking one of Hu Tingjiang's masterpieces adapted from "Youth Dance" as an example, this paper explores the application of Western coloratura singing in Chinese song creation, and also studies how to use it as a carrier to express the inner spiritual value of one's national music materials.

Bibliometric Analysis of Chinese Aesthetics(1983-2020) Based on CiteSpace
Auteurs: Lili Wang, Jiawei Zhang & Jiaxi YangIn recent years, with the continuous improvement of China's national status and the increasing national cultural confidence, the research focusing on Chinese aesthetics has gradually deepened. Using the scientific bibliometric analysis software CiteSpace, this paper analyzes and identifies literatures related to Chinese aesthetics published in CNKI journals from 1983 to 2020, sorts out the development context and research hotspots of Chinese aesthetics research, and speculates the future development of the field of Chinese aesthetics. The data reflects that the field of Chinese aesthetics is in a preliminary stage of development, with research hotspots emerging, and branches refining in the field. In the future, Chinese aesthetics may have internal branches to drive the development of the overall field. This research aims to provide a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners in the field of Chinese aesthetics. At the same time, as an important part of Chinese culture, it is of great significance to study and predict the development of Chinese aesthetics in the field of inheritance and development of Chinese culture.

Creation and Interpretation: Study on the Symbolism of Traditional Chinese Painting

Traditional Chinese painting constructs a complex symbol system with unique Moxie technique, vivid and flexible image, stylized expression and personalized expression. Since ancient times, the different styles formed in the history of traditional Chinese painting make the symbols of traditional Chinese painting have four characteristics: generality, integration, symbolism and time-space spanning. Combined with typical Chinese painting works, this paper expounds the flexible forms of symbols in the context of traditional Chinese painting, and demonstrates the value of symbols in the development and communication of traditional Chinese painting.

The Artistic Innovation of "Deer Pattern" in Dunhuang Murals — Taking the "Nine-color Deer" Illustration Design as an Example

It is both a commodity and an art. There are a large number of classic allusions and legends in Chinese traditional culture that have been refined and redesigned by modern designers, being given new styles. The nine-color deer of Dunhuang culture is such a classic legend. After redesign, there are a large number of picture books and illustration products about it; however, the product type, quality and consumer groups are not satisfactory. This design takes the nine-color deer series illustration design as the research theme, and conducts research and exploration on the origin, history, current situation, advantages and disadvantages and prospects of the nine-color deer in commercial illustrations and Dunhuang culture. The author combines the professional design knowledge he has learned with the drawing style of modern illustrations to design a series of illustrations that have a wider audience, high economic value and good dissemination, without losing the classic cultural charm and collection value.
