Abstract NL

De zes gepubliceerde studies van het proefschrift dat in dit artikel besproken wordt, resulteerden in een aantal bevindingen die ook relevant zijn voor de praktijk: (1) Leidinggevenden kunnen bevlogenheid op directe en indirecte manieren substantieel beïnvloeden; (2) Medewerkerspercepties over de leiderschapsstijl zijn belangrijk voor bevlogenheid; (3) Positieve leiderschapsstijlen hebben een aantal kenmerken met elkaar gemeen, namelijk een focus op moraliteit (bijv. zichtbaar in genomen beslissingen), rolmodelgedrag, het cultiveren van positieve relaties met werknemers, en het ondersteunen van psychologische behoeften van werknemers; (4) Welzijn van leidinggevenden is ook van belang voor leiderschap, daarnaast heeft leiderschapscompetentie een rechtstreekse invloed op dat van medewerkers; (5) Mindfulness draagt bij aan transformationeel leiderschap, omdat het helpt om de psychologische noden van leiders te vervullen, vooral via meer verbondenheid; (6) Aandachtige leiderschapscommunicatie is belangrijk voor medewerkerwelzijn. Een tabel met praktische aanbevelingen kan gevonden worden op het einde van het artikel.
